Baseball season begins!

Terri and I love baseball. Most of our children played little league baseball in Granby Conn. and when we lived in Cleveland, we had to the Indians (we were lucky to be there when they built the new stadium, Jacobs Field). So we were happy to see kids practicing in the ball fields here.

Yesterday was 'opening day' for little league. The first to hit the bases were the tiny eight year olds. In some 'miraculous' manner, they each came to base and hit in-field home runs! For some reason the older outfielders seemed to keep dropping the ball...

One young man had so much fun running the bases, he just decided to go around again!

Once the eight year olds got a chance, the older boys started in earnest. It was great fun.

Later that day Terri and I went swimming at Taga beach. When I went to jump off the ledge, there were two young Chinese girls debating whether to jump or not. They decided they should watch me go first. After I jumped, Terri and I sat in the water trying to persuade the two girls to jump. After a little coaxing, they both jumped. We clamped and cheered for them!

It was a beautiful warm day, and I only got burned a little!
