Spider beach

Liz and I went to spider beach, at least that is what we call it because of all the spider webs one will find there (a spider stick is absolutely necessary to get to the beach). It is the secret beach just NW of Tinian beach, and right next to Turtle Cove.

We went snorkeling and hunted for sea glass. I did not know sea glass was so in demand! Sea glass is just glass from broken bottles that the sand on the beach has made smooth over time. We found quite a bit of it, mostly brown and turquoise.

As we snorkeled out to the end of the shelf we immediately saw a sea turtle. I tried to get a picture, but he was way to fast for us. Besides, we had a problem with the camera. Our underwater camera automatically turns off if not used in a specific time period. I always forget that part, and often I am taking pictures when the camera is actually off! That is what happened today--so we lost a lot of pictures. Oh well...

After leaving this beach we drove to Taga beach to swim and jump off the cliff. It was a beautiful day and the water was crystal clear.
