Finding a lost army camp

I received an email from a man whose father had served on Tinian during WWII. He had a picture of the camp he lived in while on island. The camp was near the south end of Broadway. Since his father was not able to come to Tinian, he requested that I try to take a picture of the camp site, as it is today.

I thought I would have trouble finding the site, but in fact, it was quite easy! As I stood on the hill behind the new pavilions being built on Broadway, just north of the Casino, and looked at the picture of the old camp that had been sent me, I realized that the picture had to have been taken from that exact spot!

I have been following the comments and pictures on your blog site for some time now. They are of great interest to me as I was stationed on Tinian from Dec., 1944 until Feb., 1946. Then I returned to Oahu for four weeka and then to the mainland for discharge. I would really like to share my memories with you but I will need more space. Do you have an email address I can use?
