Thanks to the watchful eyes of one of the locals, Jakeson (?) Mendiola, our scooter was found in an abandoned lot not far from where it was taken. The only thing missing was the gas in the tank.
It had been cleverly hidden behind a fence and then behind bushes, but was finally discovered and brought to our attention.
Thanks to all of you who have been looking for our yellow scooter! And special thanks to Jakeson, who found it and showed me where it was hidden.
Once again the kindness of the locals have reinforced our desire to stay and live on Tinian! We are now in our second year here, and continue to grow more and more in love with the island and its people each day.
There are always ups and downs in life (such as the stolen scooter and the bureaucratic problems Terri has faced recently), but once we fight through the brush and into the open meadow... we can finally see the beautiful flowers, drink from the cold clear stream, and enjoy life as it was meant to be!
