Another trip to Saipan

On Wednesday, Terri and I traveled to Saipan again. Terri had a meeting with the Medical Board, and we wanted to do some pre-Christmas shopping. We took the ferry over (the ride was actually very smooth), and took a small plane back.

It was a clear day and we had great views of Tinian as we flew over the island. Here is a shot of Long Beach: as you can see, it has one long beach, then has a series of smaller beaches. If someone wants seclusion, all they have to do is walk through the shallow water to one of the smaller beaches, and they will have a totally private beach all to themselves!

There has been a lot of work at the airport: a new taxi-way has been finished, and a new terminal is being finished (I was told that there would be one terminal for departure and one for arrivals).

As you can see, the airport has a very unusual 'star' above their tree!

They also have a wonderful piece of artwork near the entrance... I'm not sure what the picture depicts, or what story this is supposed to tell, but someone is in obvious trouble!

The duplex being built at the top of our street is finally pouring their concrete roof!
