The San Diego trip

Here are some pics of our trip to San Diego. While Terri was hard at work at the convention, I was with my father and grandchildren playing...

Here is Ben and Kael going down a slide at the local park

My father's street is very popular with the Halloween crowd. They block the street off so that the children are protected from cars, and many combine together to celebrate the event. For example, several homes got together, and opened one garage so that they could party together and give out candy together. Some created quite spectacular experiences--mini haunted houses.

Here is one house in the daytime--you can guess what it looked like at night, all lit up

Here is my father's house in San Diego. It is rather secluded, but we still got a lot of people that came for candy--and we ran out int the end

Here is Ben

Kael and my father 'Kink' walk to the local park to play on the swings and slides

Kael gets ready to slide... all of the slides were at least 2' off the ground at the base, which meant that Kael had to jump down to get off! The problem was, that he fell more than jumped, and ended up 'face-planting' in the dirt more than once. Not to worry...he was tough as nails, and just got up, brushed himself off, and ran to do it again!

There was a large hill next to the playground that Ben and Kael found fun to climb, and then run (or fall) back down

Kael was not going to let his older brother get the best of him!

You can see the size of the hill they decided to climb-- Kink and I were not up to the climb ourselves, so we just let them go...

You can see the drop at the end of the slide that Kael had to deal with!

Kink takes a short 'rest' as he tries to keep up with Kael at the park

Ben shows his strength by hanging from the bars, as Kink again takes a breather...

Ben continues to hang around the park

Terri and I just returned from San Diego. Terri attended a medical conference, and I went to see my father, who happens to live in San Diego. We also had other family members that came to San Diego so that we could have a mini family reunion: Liz and the J's.
