I have always been amazed at how large they can grow cactus plants here. I thought they grew best in arid climates...
Someone in the Broadway Estates has decided to create an interesting garden. They had created their own Taga stones and, I assume, will be planting something around them. In the meantime, their small dog is protecting the honored site!
It seems as though no matter where you go, some type of flower can be found--even hidden in the grass.
The new amphitheater is almost complete.
The main structure is complete and painted, and the seating is almost done.
Workers continue to work on the finishing details of the seating.
They continue to dig a large hole in the back. I'm not sure what it is for... someone said that it was going to be a retention pond.
While some businesses close, others open and seem to thrive. This new barbecue place opened a while ago across from the Dynasty and seems to be doing well.
They have expanded their menu from just a few items to full meals. Terri and I haven't tried their food yet, but they always seem to have people there.
There is nothing more pleasant than to take a morning walk along the seashore. Tinian has a wonderful walkway that they created that extends along all three of their most popular beaches.
About a block away from the end of the walk is the House of Taga
Then you come to another little shrine that always has something new to see
There are almost always new offerings that have been left by tourists who have visited the island. Unfortunately, I cannot read the prayers that have been left to honor the dead.
Recently Telesourse, the energy company on the island, provided new trash receptacles for all of the beaches and picnic areas along the walkway area. This was a much needed addition to help keep the beaches and grounds clean. Thanks!
The upper main street road has now been removed, and had new road base installed from one end to the other. Drainage lines have been started to be installed, and now, frames for what will be the concrete curbing--the edge of the paved road--has started.
