Thanksgiving Morn on Tinian

It's Thanksgiving morning on Tinian. It is a beautiful sunny day--very warm--and Terri and I decided to take a long walk (she is on call, but as long as she has a phone on her, she can be reached).

We decided to take a walk around the Dynasty block, about four miles. There is one steep hill, but then most of the walk is flat. On the back side of Dynasty there are the large dormitories that the casino staff live in. I think there are about 700 men and women living there now, and that there is room for about 1,200 when it is full. The Dynasty has 400+ rooms for guests and several restaurants: a Japanese, a Chinese, a Western/American, a 24 hr Cafe in the casino itself, and, of course, Monster Pizza.

We also discovered a new brand of lawn mower on Tinian...the large cow. Tied to a tree with a long rope, it easily keeps the lawn mowed!

We arrived home, took showers, and readied ourselves for the first of two celebrations today: one at the hospital at noon and one at the Dynasty at six.

As you can see by our picture, giving thanks comes easy here!
