Thanksgiving at the Dynasty Casino

On Thanksgiving night, the local Mormon congregation of #4 people went out together to celebrate the holiday. The Dynasty Casino was having a special turkey dinner for those few guests that wanted this kind of meal. We decided to go early--which was good, as they were running out of turkey before we were done with our dinner.

The presentation was wonderful, and the food tasted great! We all had a wonderful time--even though it was odd celebrating a religious holiday sitting in the middle of a casino with craps tables, slot machines, and card players surrounding us! They even had a video horse racing section--so every few minutes the bell would ring and the horses would be off and running, making it sound like it was raining inside the building!

Terri, as usual, got into trouble (for those that know her well, know that she has a way of getting into trouble!) by pulling out a camera to take a picture of the turkey dinner--it was so pretty! As soon as the camera came out, she was reprimanded by the waiter...it seems it is against the house rules to bring a camera into the casino. She smiled, and quickly took the picture anyway (explaining the fingers in front of the lens), before putting the camera away. I guess bringing anything into the casino that could be used for cheating is banned by the house. Who knew?

We are becoming well known on the island--it is a small island--and bumped into many people we knew. Since one of our group actually works in the Casino, after dinner we were treated to a tour of the building. He showed us places we never knew were there!

Terri and I came home very full, and very happy. It was a wonderful day, spent with a wonderful group of people--new friends and family from all walks of life!
