Halloween Contest

On Halloween night, the Mayor held a children's costume contest at the local ball field. Lots of small children participated, with their parents, and we were there to enjoy the fun. There were a number of prizes for cutest, scariest, most unique, etc. Terri and I both commented that we would have hated to be the judges! All of the costumes were so interesting, and the small children were so cute it just melted your heart!

The only odd, and equally amusing, part of the evening (for us newcomers) was that government paperwork was required to be filled out for the children (and their parents) to collect their prizes! The local and CNMI governments are doing everything they can to deter misuse of government funds...so before the children walked away with their prizes they had to sign the form!
